Christian Claim
"Jesus said no prophet would come after him — Muhammad ﷺ is therefore false"
Bible References
Jesus: 'It is for your good that I go — the Advocate will not come unless I go'
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you."
The coming one 'will guide you into all truth'
"However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming."
Quran References
"Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets."
Islamic Clarification
Jesus never said this. He warned against false prophets but explicitly promised another would come after him (John 14:16, 16:7–8). In John 16, Jesus says it is 'for your good that I go away' because the one coming would 'guide you into all truth' (16:13). Islam takes this as a direct prophecy of Muhammad ﷺ. The 'seal of the prophets' in Islam means the last — the final brick completing the structure — not that no more revelation was needed after Jesus.
