Islamic Clarification

Jesus used the title 'Son of Man' over 80 times — his most common self-description — a title with no divine connotation in Jewish tradition. When addressed as 'good teacher,' Jesus replied: 'Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone' (Mark 10:18). He explicitly said 'the Father is greater than I' (John 14:28). The strongest divine-sounding verses are largely in the Gospel of John — the latest-written Gospel, composed decades after the others — and are actively debated among mainstream Christian theologians.
